Psychedelics & Music: A Conversation and Sound Bath
This two-part evening will begin with Rabbi Sydney Mintz conversing with Dr. Richard Miller, (Psychedelic Medicine) in a discussion about how psychedelic medicines are having a healing impact on the dying process. (6:30-7:30pm)
Followed by featured performers: Loriel Starr and Gary Malkin (with special guests Tammi Brown and Timothy Surya Das) presenting an exquisite multi-dimensional sound bath experience with layered soundscapes, singing bowls, gongs, keyboards, vocals, didgeridoo, and more! (8:00-9:30pm)
Whether thriving, healing, or grieving, your sonic journey will support harmony of body, mind and spirit. Lie down (or be seated) and let go of layers of stress and tension as you tune in to deep relaxation and inner peace.
Please bring a yoga mat and/or a blanket. Additional items to add to your comfort are a pillow, a blanket to cover yourself, and eye covering and a water bottle.
Doors close promptly at 7:55pm for an 8:00pm start. Please be settled by then, and we request that participants remain in the venue space for the duration of the sound bath to help support the meditative experience.
You're welcome to attend either just the lecture or just the sound bath, but there is only one ticket price for the evening. Each part of the evening will be held in separate parts of the Congregation Emanu-El. There will be a break in-between to use the restroom and move your meditation and personal items to the sound bath space.
