The Root Slam Writing Workshop
Our goal is to use this workshop to embrace change as a necessary form of healing and to begin to name how we want to be remembered.
We will write, but we will also talk and share and build community. This workshop is lead by poet, educator, and Root Slam co-founder Gabriel Cortez and is part of The Root Slam's regular writing workshop series that occurs 10–11:30am every 2nd and 4th Friday at Chapter 510.
The Root Slam is guided by values centering the voices of Black, indigenous, and people of color artists; queer, trans, gender non-conforming, and women poets; working class/low-income, disabled, im/migrant and undocumented folks. All experience levels welcome!
