Death in Colonial New York: A Walking Tour with Allison C. Meier
Morbid Anatomy, Allison C. Meier

Few traces of colonial New York remain among Manhattan's streets and skyscrapers. This walking tour will uncover the history of mortality in early New York, particularly related to how, and where, a person was interred.
Life could be hard in the rowdy seaport, with yellow fever outbreaks and an active slave trade, and this exploration will also consider what is missing from the plaques, surviving cemeteries, and other public commemorations of our past.
NOTE: This tour through Manhattan will meet in front of the National Museum of The American Indian at 1 Bowling Green, New York, NY 10004.
