Mourning in Multifaith/Multiheritage Families

Hosted by

B'nai Jeshurun

Along with the expected pain and sorrow of losing a loved one, multifaith/multiheritage couples and families face important questions of if, and how, different mourning rituals from their respective faith traditions and cultures will be observed upon a death in the family.

Join Rabbi Adina Lewittes and BJ's Jewish Home Project to explore sensitive questions related to mourning within multifaith/multiheritage couples and to acquire the tools to navigate them with respect and compassion. How will they wish for their loved ones to participate? What if some are uncomfortable participating in another tradition's rituals? Have they explained to one another their religious and spiritual wishes in planning for their end of life care?
