The Grief Gallery: January Gathering
We’ll start off with some creative inspiration, with The Grief Gallery curator Charlene Lam sharing a piece of art, design or writing that touches on grief and loss. Then we'll open it up for conversation and sharing.
Feel free to bring an object to share on the virtual gallery plinth: An item or the story of an item you've kept after a loved one died.
Alternatively, there's no pressure to turn on your camera or to speak if you do not wish to –– all curious and kind grievers are welcome!
Charlene Lam is a certified grief coach and the founder of The Grief Gallery. After her mother died suddenly in 2013, she leaned into her creativity and instincts as a curator to guide herself through grief.
That work led her to help other people to process their grief and losses. She provides grief coaching to help bereaved people to feel less alone and better equipped to deal with the practical and emotional aftermath of losing a loved one.
The Grief Gallery presents exhibits about death and grief during international design events, including NYCxDESIGN, DesignTO (Toronto) and the London Design Festival.
A proud Chinese-American New Yorker (like her mom!), she is currently based in Lisbon, Portugal.
