The Opportunity

The Marketing Manager is a new, full-time position that was previously managed by consultants. You will work in close partnership with the Executive Director, Reimagine team and agency partners to create and drive a Marketing and Communications Plan that supports the actualization of Reimagine’s mission. You will oversee all marketing activities for Reimagine, serving as the brand steward ensuring that all communications and activities reflect the brand identity.

The successful candidate must have experience with metrics-driven marketing and communications, preferably in a startup environment. This is a self-directed role that requires the leadership and vision to drive all marketing and communications activities with the full support of the organization and the Board. You will find no task too big or too small and should anticipate administrative responsibilities in addition to strategic big picture work. It is critical that the Marketing Manager be a skilled communicator, adept at designing and executing effective messaging to a wide variety of audiences from all segments of society. This position is based in San Francisco but will have global responsibilities.

Critical Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute on a Communications Plan that meets the needs of a growing organization with a widely varied local to International audience, including a strategic and effective automated email program (strategy, copywriting, design and creation, deployment and analytics)
  • Manage website development and revisions from a marketing perspective, ensuring brand consistency and effective messaging
  • Manage development of any marketing, branding and presentation materials for the organization and for specific events and activities, including video, digital and print
  • Develop and execute an effective SEO and content marketing strategy utilizing the large bank of content from events
  • Manage social media strategy, content posting, advertising and community management
  • Manage all marketing activities for Reimagine festivals and events, training and supporting local event hosts and partners
  • Partner with Development Director and Events Team on creating, selling and activating sponsor opportunities, ensuring we meet the marketing needs of our partners and sponsors
  • Designing and implement integrated marketing campaigns which may span social media, influencer, film and more

Required Competencies and Qualifications

  • At least 8 years professional experience, minimum of 5 years proven experience in a marketing role role at a startup, mission-driven organization or non-profit; Experience marketing events is a bonus
  • Demonstrated success in all facets of marketing communications, including but not limited to website, email, collateral, social media and content development
  • Proven ability to develop effective, tailored strategies for messaging a wide variety of constituents
  • Media savvy and understands new marketing trends while being able to show empathy for people of diverse age groups and backgrounds
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, as well as experience writing effective email and marketing messages
  • Proficiency with Pardot, Marketo or other email communications and marketing automation tools
  • Ease of use of workplace apps including Slack, Gsuite, Google apps, and similar tools
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; advanced degree or certification, such as a CFRE, preferred
