Mourning, Moving, and Accompaniment, Session 2

Hosted by Sasha Soreff

Mourning, Moving, and Accompaniment, Session 2
How can we touch grief and not be consumed? How can we tend to our hearts and still be in the world? This workshop series invites us to explore grief in community with resonant words and movement.

Over 4 weeks, Mourning, Moving and Accompaniment provides a space for honoring grief in community. When we are accompanied in our grief, we can become more present to ourselves and others. Resonant empathy, rooted in the principles of Non-Violent Communication an coupled with creative movement, invites us to compassionately connect with our experiences. The result is a way to meet ourselves with warmth and curiosity, tapping into expression that is authentic, unfiltered, heart-centered. This kind of loosely structured, creative movement can bring us from our heads into our bodies, and toward a deeper level of self-connection and healing.

The workshop takes place on 4 Sundays: April 3, April 10, April 24, May 1 (no gathering on April 17) @ 12 noon Eastern. Over the workshop series, we’ll explore mourning related to (and not limited to): the loss of loved ones, the loss of dreams, transgenerational grief, and acknowledging systemic harm.

Attendance at all 4 is encouraged. Please sign up for each week's workshop on each workshop page: https://letsreimagine.org/spring2022/schedule?query=mourning%2C%20moving.

Please contact Sasha at connect@sashasoreffdance.com to come at no cost.

Note: All movement can be done seated, and all movement invitations are optional; all forms of creative expression and embodiment, including stillness, is welcome.
