Become WHOLE again: Creative Strategies for Grieving

Become WHOLE again: Creative Strategies for Grieving
How do we become whole again after we have been shattered by grief? Join thanatologist Claudia Coenen and explore creative techniques presented in her two books and in The Karuna Cards.

My life as a musician, dancer and writer synthesized into my counseling work, which called to me after a sudden loss. Using creative process was a natural pathway for me and in this workshop, we will discuss how creativity can deepen your reponse to grieving by helping you express it in different ways. I will share my story - from widow to grief counselor and demonstrate some of the creative strategies contained in my books and in the Karuna Cards. You will have the opportunity to engage with some of the expressive modalities during our time together.

The Karuna Cards were developed while I worked in a hospice and they provide prompts for journaling, collage, communing with nature and other modes to process grief. Shattered by Grief: Picking up the Pieces to become WHOLE again contains some memoir, some theory and a view through five lens, which help you navigate your grief journey. The Creative Toolkit for Working with Grief and Bereavement: A Practitioners Guide offers a more in-depth analysis of grief history and current research along with 30 creative worksheets to use.

Please join me to discover how creative process can help us navigate grief and help us live fully again.
