Grief Literacy Workshop, Part 1

Grief Literacy Workshop, Part 1
Expand your knowledge of grief literacy from a non-pathology, anti-racist, and anti-oppressive orientation. Join us as we reimagine a radical new vision of grief and loss!

Being Here, Human is proud to present part one of our 2-part Grief Literacy series. Designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of grief and loss including an increase in practical skills, a broadening of grief-related language and vocabulary, and an overall improvement in comfort and ease for those navigating the tumultuous waters of grief and loss, our workshops are inclusive of both death related and non-death related losses.

Part one offers a unique, non-pathology based perspective of the grief experience, that is anti-oppressive, anti-racist, and diversity focused. Learn new definitions, common myths & misconceptions, aids and impediments to the metabolization of grief, and a dismantling of the 5-stages. Facilitated and moderated by Being Here, Human’s co-founders Rachelle Bensoussan, M.A., CT and Michelle Williams, MSW.

Rachelle Bensoussan, M.A., CT - Holds a master’s degree in Thanatology, is a certified Thanatologist with the Association of Death Education and Counselling (ADEC) and has spent the last ten years building community-based bereavement programs for hospices across Southern Ontario.
