Sounds of the Ocean

Sounds of the Ocean
Do you love the Ocean? Come dive deep under the surface in this one-hour soundbath to connect with marine life. We will hear recordings of whales and dolphins paired with relaxing live instruments.

Oceans contain between 50% - 80% of all life on Earth.

To raise awareness of ocean conservation efforts happening around the world, this offering connects participants with marine life, through sound.

Our sound journey features recordings of whales, dolphins and human sounds from the deep waters of Monterey Bay Canyon near Santa Cruz, California.

We combine these sounds with live instruments representing the element of water to create an immersive sound and visual experience.

This project represents a collaboration between marine and human life to support our collective wellbeing and create lasting environmental impact.

Facilitator: Joshua Miller

Joshua leads the Sounds of the Ocean team as a California based environmental conservationist, multi-instrumentalist and wellness producer. He believes that in our fast-paced modern world, it is critical to slow our minds down and drop into our hearts to create authentic connection and live our true purpose. Joshua has shared his experience with sound as a meditative tool in the United States, Australia, Bali, Portugal, Indonesia, Poland and India.

In 2020, Joshua's work was accepted as part of the International Year of Sound as presented by the Acoustical Society of America. He has appeared at the NAMM Show, Bhakti Fest, Disclosure Fest and has participated in over 200 workshops at iconic venues such as UCLA, Grace Cathedral and Burning Man. Joshua strives to reduce stress in people's lives by building connection back to the natural world through sound. He is driven by passion to raise environmental awareness by curating immersive sound and visual experiences in support of ocean conservation work around the world.
