Food for Thought: Poetry Cafe

Food for Thought: Poetry Cafe
In this 60 min, free workshop, we use poetry and poem making to connect with ourselves and others during these challenging times. Join a supportive community to share what resonates with you.

Offered by Redwing Keyssar, RN, Author

Director of Patient and Caregiver Education

The MERI Center for Education in Palliative Care, UCSF/Mt Zion

In this one-hour, online “Poetry Café” we will access our creativity through the art of “poem-making.”

We will:

  • Listen to some poems read out loud and see how they make us feel
  • Use specific words or “prompts” to encourage our own “poem-making”
  • Create a safe environment in which to listen to each other
  • Allow poems to surprise us and guide our own healing journeys

In these challenging times, it is more important than ever to express our feelings and connect to our own creativity and community.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A WRITER!

Sessions are offered every Friday from 11 am - 12 pm through 12/18/2020

Except November 20th & 27th

You may attend one or many, but you must register for each session to receive the Poetry Packet and Zoom link!
