It's OK to Laugh: Tools for Connection with Shared Laughter
Daughters InSanity invites you to join comedian Dani Klein Modisett, founder of “Laughter On Call,” for an interactive workshop designed just for us! Discover the caregiving benefits of humor. Find ways to communicate better with our elders and heal relationships with family members. See how shared humor can turn down the stress and frustration, build trust and improve communication overall.
Dani will show how to bring that beneficial playfulness into your lives with a system she calls BHILATYS – a unique acronym that sounds like Pilates and stands for eight laughter-inducing skills. From Breathing to saying “Yes,” these tools with strengthen your caregiver core and become your go-to caregiving toolkit. Everyone in your circle – friends, siblings, partners – is welcome and will enjoy this fun, hands-on fun fest. Invite them all –even friends who are on the brink of having to care for their elderly loved ones.

Founded in 2020, Daughters InSanity supports adult daughters of elderly parents, mostly mothers, mostly with dementia. We share our experiences and resources, hear from experts and innovators in all caregiving fields, create group events like this one and help each other manage this phase of life with greater balance and ease.
Named on Forbes magazine's 2023 50 Over 50 List, Dani Klein Modisett is the Founder/CEO of Laughter On Call. Dani taught Stand-Up at UCLA for 10 years and has coached keynote speakers, business leaders, and Congressional candidates to use more humor in their communication. She has been a speaker at CALA, ICAA, Stanford, MIT, Columbia, UCLA, Dartmouth, Fuqua and Harvard Business School where Laughter On Call is currently being used as a case study. Her writing has appeared in AARP, NY Times, LA Times, Parents Magazine and many websites.
