Let Me IntervYOU! Episode #8
Hosted by Woman of Asian Heritage
Loss of physical mobility can happen suddenly or over time. Join Physical Therapist and Yoga Teacher Becca Impello to discuss how we might anticipate and honor the grief in loss of physical abilities.
Becca Impello discovered a fascination with the human body’s physical structure and ability just after college when she became a fitness instructor. This fascination led her further to the study of Physical Therapy (PT), which she has been practicing since 1999. Becca simultaneously discovered yoga, which not only fulfilled her desire to tune in to her own body and mind but also revealed to her a wealth of therapeutic benefits.
Becca’s Physical Therapy practice has evolved to using breath and body awareness as well as therapeutic modifications of yoga poses.
Join us as Becca shares learnings re: how we might better understand the journey of loss of physical abilities. Her work one-on-one in individualized yoga instruction and
in community classes has given her insights into how losing or needing to modify physical movements can impact self-worth and self-care.
Becca will lead us in a short mindfulness meditation exercise.
