Let Me IntervYOU! Episode #8

Let Me IntervYOU! Episode #8
To embrace her family story, author Abby Walters combines memoir writing + fiction using different tools to create a new narrative re: 3 generations. One tool: photos. We’ll freewrite w/your own photo

Welcome join us for an exploration of loss and grief and how to tell the story of loved ones we have lost.  Writing helps channel our grief and other emotions into creative expression about relationships, lived experience and shared memories.

Author Abby Walters has almost completed a book about three generations of her family.  She will discuss her writing process and share a couple of excerpts from her manuscript.

Trained in social work, Abby has had a distinguished career as a community-outreach and volunteerism expert.  Her decision to write about loved ones is to pursue her passion project in retirement.

Abby will also lead us in a short writing exercise.  She invites you to bring 1 or 2 photographs of person(s) you have lost for a short writing exercise engaging creativity through grief.  Any attendees who feel comfortable to share their writing will have the opportunity to do so during our time together.
