I grew up and live in Baltimore, Maryland. I am very involved in my community, especially the Jewish community. Professionally, I have worked in the accounting field and as a program coordinator. I have two sons, one who died by suicide in 2020 at the age of 19. My younger son also has dealt with mental health challenges. As a mother who as experienced such a tragic loss, I have committed myself to try to improve education and resources relating to mental health. I do not want others to experience the loneliness and the helpless feeling of managing a mental health issue. I am constantly educating myself on mental health topics through participating in webinars and reading articles and books. I have spoken to groups about my experience and how it is important to take care of oneself and to not let the mental health stigma deter one from seeking help.
