What I'm here to reimagine...

To reimagine grief as part of our ongoing relationship with life, where creativity, storytelling, and curiosity become pathways to connection, belonging, and remembering who we are. A place where every part of our humanity is welcome.

I'm Jocelyn Bates, a writer, expressive artist, and former expressive arts therapist. Creativity has always been central to my life, beginning with theater and dance and evolving through years of artistic exploration. In September 2021, I lost both of my parents just seven days apart. Their deaths opened an entirely new relationship with creativity, spirituality, and what it means to be human. Through Soul Art, automatic writing, the Akashic Records, and explorations of the nervous system, I began following what was unfolding within me and giving it expression. I'm the author of The Midnight Carnival: A Tale of Remembering and creator of The Remembering, a space for creative exploration, connection, and coming home. I share my own journey and invite others to explore theirs. I'm endlessly curious about the mystery, complexity, and sheer brilliance of being human.
