Angela Baucom first encountered significant personal loss as a high school senior when her mother Helen died of breast cancer in 2004. Following this experience, Angela endeavored to carry forward her mother's legacy of grace, compassion, and creativity. Angela started her professional life as a visual arts educator in North Carolina public schools, working to nurture creative expression and expand others' understanding of the world around them. In 2012, she relocated to Texas where she earned a Master of Social Work and transitioned to a career working to address the basic needs of her community. In 2019, she completed training as a hospice volunteer, and an End of Life Doula with the International End of Life Doula Association (INELDA). She regularly volunteers her time to bring people together and facilitate meaningful conversations about death, grief, and open-hearted living.
