Be the Change: A Friendship Called Ndugu, Part II
City Lore presents performance artists Annie Lanzillotto & Simba Yangala in this participatory salon filled with story, humor and conversation about the world in which we find ourselves.

City Lore and the Nurse Practitioner Healthcare Foundation presents performance artists Annie Lanzillotto and Simba Yangala. Hosted by Steve Zeitlin of City Lore. Annie and Simba, friends and ndugu for 22 years, share stories, poems and conversation on COVID, racial justice, and the present moment we are in - what Simba calls: “Slavery in Slow Motion Caught on Film.” Simba speaks of the recent death of her grandmother, buried in the Congo under quarantine. Annie shares new monologues from being immunocompromised and sheltering-in-place alone. Audiences are invited to share their own experiences on vulnerabilities and isolation during the pandemic, and creative ways forward for racial justice.
