Soil Delivery Project

Soil Delivery Project
Soil can link us to a sense of place, in both life and death. Please participate in our soil delivery project and help people who miss their homeland but are unable to return.

This is week three of the four-session workshop that fosters talks about death and considers ways to bring our loved ones into the discussion through objects. Attendees can join this session without the previous sessions. The videos of the previous sessions are available on the Patria Soli website at patriasoli.com. In this session “Soil and Story,” attendees send soil from their home to us with their stories to be added to our original Patria Soli project. Patria Soli is a socially engaged art project that delivers soil from one’s homeland to the person not able to go back to their homeland at the end of their life. Necessary materials will be shipped to attendees. We will also turn the workshop results into a zin and return it to the attendees. Our team consists of artist Miya Hannan and health communication specialist Jillian Tullis from Patria Soil, and Steve Zeitlin, Executive Director of City Lore, New York.
