Growing older is complicated.
It can bring freedom and loss, clarity and uncertainty, possibility and limitation... sometimes all at once. Yet there aren't many places where we can talk honestly about what it is like to grow older without being told how we should feel about it.
Becoming Ourselves is a five-week discussion and reflection group offering space for honest conversation about aging and the ways we continue to change and become throughout our lives.
Together, we'll explore what we're noticing about this season of life: what is changing and what remains, what surprises us, what we're discovering about ourselves, what we're grieving or letting go, and what may still be unfolding.
This isn't a group about learning to “age well” or finding the bright side of every change. There will be room for what we appreciate about growing older and what we don't, for what we're discovering and what we're questioning... and for the things we haven't quite figured out.
Each gathering will include a short reading or poem, time for personal reflection, and facilitated conversation. No particular religious or spiritual perspective is assumed or required. You are welcome to bring your own beliefs, questions, experiences, and ways of making meaning.
