Holding Space: Claire Bidwell Smith & Marisa Renee Lee

Hosted by Reimagine

Join best-selling author Claire Bidwell Smith and writer and entrepreneur, Marisa Renee Lee, Co-Founder of Supportal, in an exploration about our collective grief and anxiety.

This is a unique time in our world for people who are experiencing grief and loss on many different levels. As a therapist who has specialized in grief and anxiety for over a decade, I hope to use the knowledge and tools I have amassed to help others who are struggling. These weekly discussions are open to anyone who wants to join, and each week I'll be bringing on a special guest to help explore our collective grief and anxiety. We will offer coping tools and techniques and take live questions from participants. If you can't make it to the call you will receive a recording.

Claire Bidwell Smith is an internationally renowned author, speaker, and grief expert. She is the author of three books of nonfiction: The Rules of Inheritance, After This: When Life Is Over Where Do We Go? and Anxiety: The Missing Stage of Grief. Her books have been published in 18 countries and Claire lectures and writes regularly about grief.

Marisa Renee Lee is a writer, speaker, and entrepreneur. She is the CEO of Beacon Advisors, co-founder of Supportal, and founder of The Pink Agenda. She is currently writing her first book, Grief is Love. Most everything Marisa does is inspired by the loss of her mother Lisa. When she lost her mom twelve years ago, and again after she lost a pregnancy last year, she found that writing helped her heal. Marisa's forthcoming book, Grief is Love, is a narrative non-fiction book about everything she’s learned from loss. The book was recently officially announced by Hachette’s new imprint, Legacy Lit.

Marisa also co-founded Supportal, a platform that makes it easy for people to respond when someone they care about is faced with a life-changing challenge. With a focus on experiences that are difficult to deal with and difficult to respond to, Supportal features first-hand accounts of people who have experienced life-changing challenges.

She also serves as the Founder and President of Beacon Advisors, a mission driven consulting firm that allows her to support a variety of institutions on organizational development, executive coaching and donor advising. Until 2017 Marisa served as the Managing Director of the My Brother’s Keeper Alliance (MBK Alliance), a nonprofit born out of President Obama's call to action to address the barriers to success that boys and young men of color disproportionately face along the life path. Through her work with MBK Alliance, Marisa led a collaborative, cross-sectoral movement that united business, philanthropy, nonprofit, and community leaders, to increase pathways of opportunity for young men of color.
