Intro to Embodying, Expressing, and Empathizing with Grief

Hosted by Sasha Soreff

Intro to Embodying, Expressing, and Empathizing with Grief
How can we touch grief and not be consumed? How can we stay in the world as we tend to our hearts? A gentle introduction to acknowledging grief with empathic conversation, movement and meditation.

Facilitated by transformational coach and movement artist Sasha Soreff, this is a gathering space for honoring grief in community. Empathic conversation, rooted in the principles of Non-Violent Communication and coupled with creative movement, invites us to connect with our experiences of loss with compassion and support. When we are accompanied in our grief - as well as anger, shame, fear, and other emotions, we can become more present to ourselves and others. Creative movement allows for the embodied expression of long-held feelings, bringing us from our heads into our hearts and toward a deeper level of self-connection and healing.

Note: All movement can be done seated or lying down, and all movement invitations are optional; all forms of creative expression and embodiment, including stillness, is welcome.

There are three ticket options, including $0. If you are in a position to do so, contributions to the facilitator are gratefully received.

Testimonial: “I lost a close friend to COVID-19, and the first place I really felt safe enough to consider my grief was in a workshop with Sasha. I always come away feeling understood, not only by her, but by myself. Sasha’s workshops have been essential to my personal growth and sense of self.” Krishna, New York
