My Story

I am passionate about creative expression in community. As Artistic Director of Sasha Soreff Dance Theater I have been creating and sharing multigenerational, participatory work on stages and in community (from the Ailey Citigroup Theater to the Queens Museum of Art) for close to twenty years. I am passionate about creative expression in community. As Artistic Director of Sasha Soreff Dance Theater I have been creating and sharing multigenerational, participatory work on stages and in community (from the Ailey Citigroup Theater to the Queens Museum of Art) for close to twenty years. I teach at Gibney Dance (choreography and contemporary dance classes online); in the last year, I have had the honor of being a frequent guest teacher at NYU’s Initiative for Women with Disabilities. My classes and workshops are spaces of movement, storytelling, empathy, and playful curiosity. A Maine native, I studied modern dance at North Carolina School of the Arts and received a BA from Barnard College. I look forward to exploring movement and storytelling with you one day soon!
