A gathering and celebration to introduce the Artists' Grief Deck, an arts-based toolkit to support communal grieving even in times of enforced isolation.
The Artists' Literacies Institute and artist Adriene Jenik welcome you to a gathering in celebration of the Artists' Grief Deck. The Grief Deck was created through a collaborative effort by dozens of artists in the US and around the world, the NYC Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NYCVOAD), and the National Hospice Cooperative.
At this event, we will introduce a wider audience to the Grief Deck, to griefdeck.com, and to the coalition of artists, grief workers, caregivers, and disaster relief organizations who contributed to it, and who are now employing it in support of those who have experienced loss this year. There will be musical performances and artists discussing their work and grief prompts, and a chance for participants to talk with the artists and organizations directly, helping to bridge the gap left by the absence of traditional gatherings in the era of Covid-19.
