Let Me IntervYOU! Episode #10
A few years after her Mother, Juanita C. Grant, passed away in 2010, Orlene Grant established a foundation in her late parent’s name. The mission of this nonprofit is to work to eradicate health disparities in multicultural populations. The foundation has engaged in a variety of initiatives that empower seniors to take charge of their own health and deepen engagement in their community.
Through the work of this foundation Orlene honors the values that her late Mother lived by. What challenges has she faced in preserving the legacy of a family member who was committed to “doing unto others as they will do unto you”?
Orlene, Mrs. Grant’s youngest daughter, saw first-hand how her Mother built coalitions between community members in Gary, Indiana. How has she applied these lessons learned in her own leadership role at this foundation?
An organization founded in loving memory is now a force of its own in advocating on behalf of older Americans. Welcome join us to hear stories about legacy building preserves values beyond one lifetime.
