Next Gen Grief

Hosted by MESO

Next Gen Grief
What is next generation grief? It is the longing for being understood, from each side, of immigrants and all who come after. It is the grief of the whole immigrant experience...and then some.

What is next generation grief? It is the longing for being understood, from each side, of immigrants and all who come after. It is the grief of the whole immigrant experience...and then some.

As a result of our event “Grief Through An Immigrant Lens” with guest speaker Rashida Sanchez, we realized numerous “Ah ha” moments about our parents and in turn, our own experiences. Disconnections from tradition, cultural practice, language, and for many, community displaces a sense of identity. This befalls the next generation to reorient themselves to discover their own truth.

MESO supports immigrants and the next generation to reorient their center, reframing awareness at the intersection of heritage, wellness, death and grief in the pursuit of whole living and peaceful dying.

As co-founders of MESO, Tida Beattie and Soyeon Davis are wholistic end of life doulas and community educators.
