On Our Block: Life Stories by NYCHA Senior Champions
A storytelling event featuring a line-up of the New York City Housing Authority's older adult community leaders who will each perform a short reading of a life story.

You're invited to the New York City Housing Authority & Life Story Club's storytelling event - brought to you by the Senior Champions Program. The event will feature a line-up of older adult NYCHA residents and community leaders who will each perform a short reading of a life story. Please come watch and warm-up with an afternoon of powerful, inspiring and meaningful storytelling.

Senior Champions are resident leaders who actively make a difference in the lives of their fellow senior residents by taking on various social, health, safety, and educational projects. This year, the Senior Champions have brought Life Story Club to NYCHA older residents to stay connected and socially engaged, especially during COVID-19. Participants have met over the phone on a weekly basis to exchange life experiences, support one another, and celebrate their community achievements. The series is culminating with a Storytelling Event and print publication of their stories.
