Spiritual Practices for Grief - Writing for Your Life

Spiritual Practices for Grief - Writing for Your Life
There is power in writing with intention and capturing your story as you grieve. Explore the spiritual practice of story writing and how it can bring you comfort as you grieve.

We believe in the power of presence, to be in community with others, and the need for ritual as we grieve. During the pandemic, we have in many ways been stripped of these as we grieve. In this workshop, we will invite you to share your grief journey, be in a community with those who are grieving and explore spiritual practices that can offer a ritual for comfort.

In this space, led by award-winning author, Mary Potter Kenyon, we will explore the power of capturing your story and how to start an intentional writing practice. Mary wrote her way through the triple whammy of grief in losing her mother, husband, and her grandson all in a short period of time. Because writing facilitated her healing and provided comfort as she grieves, Mary began researching it as a method to help others. A certified grief counselor and therapeutic art coach, Mary demonstrates the science behind utilizing intentional writing as a tool for healing and methods for getting started in journaling and writing.
