Mother's Day can bring joy and connection. It can also bring, for many reasons, grief, pressure, and aloneness. An embodied, expressive, empathic exploration of your experience of Mother's Day.

There are days of the year that may carry extra attention, and possibly, extra weight. Mother's Day among them. Whether you are grieving the loss of a parent, experience/d a fraught connection with your mother, if you don't identify as a mother, or are struggling with parenthood, feel a simultaneous sense of love, celebration and mourning, or experience any of the myriad of reasons that Mother's Day feels complicated, you are welcome.

Empathic conversation, rooted in the principles of Non-Violent Communication invites us toward a compassionate understanding of our lived experiences; creative movement allows for the embodied expression of long-held feelings. Being in zoom community can interrupt the sense of isolation this day can create. This union of empathy, embodiment, and expression brings from our heads into our hearts and toward a deeper level of self-connection, presence and relief.

No prior movement experience is necessary. All movement invitations are optional, and one can participate sitting, standing, or lying down, on camera or off.
