The Grief Gallery: December Gathering

This is a digital event. You should receive information in your ticket or from the host about how to join online.

Free
We are ALL curators after a loved one dies. Join a holiday edition of The Grief Gallery's monthly gathering and feel free to bring a meaningful object (or the story of an item) to share.

Join curator and grief coach Charlene Lam for The Grief Gallery's monthly gathering for community sharing and creative inspiration.

For this special December 2024 edition, we'll meet on Sunday Dec 22nd, 2-4pm ET (NYC) / 7-9pm UK time. Feel free to just stay for an hour, pop in or stay the whole time — it's a busy season AND I believe we still need to make space for grief and to be in community.

We’ll start off with an introduction to The Grief Gallery (with visuals) from curator Charlene Lam. Then we'll open it up for conversation and sharing. And we may be joined by special guests!

Feel free to bring an object to share in our virtual gallery space: An item or the story of an item you've kept after a loved one died.

Alternatively, there's no pressure to turn on your camera or to speak if you do not wish to –– all curious and kind grievers are welcome!

During these gatherings, we:

  • Make space for grief
  • Share stories about our loved ones
  • Get a taste of the Curating Grief approach
  • Learn more about why the lens of curating and meaningful objects can be so powerful for grievers

Charlene Lam is a certified grief coach and the founder of The Grief Gallery. After her mother died suddenly in 2013, she leaned into her creativity and instincts as a curator to guide herself through grief.

As a grief coach, she supports bereaved people in processing their losses in creative, accessible ways with her Curating Grief framework.

The Grief Gallery presents exhibits about death and grief internationally, including in London, New York, Los Angeles and Toronto.

A proud Chinese-American New Yorker (like her mom!), she is currently based in Lisbon, Portugal.
