What does the Eclipse tell us about us? With words & movement

Hosted by Sasha Soreff

What does the Eclipse tell us about us? With words & movement
What of our light is hidden by shadow? With empathic conversation, embodiment and creative movement, we'll explore the nature of what is seen and unseen in honor of the total solar eclipse.

On April 8, the solar eclipse will be viewable by millions in North America. The path of totality includes parts of Mexico and Canada, with a huge swath of the continental US along the way. Day turns to night as those of us in North America finds ourselves in the shadow of the moon.

The coming of a total solar eclipse is in itself a wonder. It also inspires wonderings, about the nature of visibility, the ways in which aspects of ourselves are seen and unseen, and how the shadow can seemingly obscure the light.

Creative movement allows for the embodied expression of long-held feelings; empathic conversation, rooted in the principles of Non-Violent Communication invites us toward a compassionate understanding of our lived experiences. This union of embodiment, expression, and empathy bringing us from our heads into our hearts and toward a deeper level of self-connection, groundedness and healing.

When we are accompanied in our experiences, whether they are painful or joyful or somewhere in between, we can become more present to ourselves and others.

All movement can be done seated, standing, or lying down, and all movement invitations are optional: you can fully participate whether you move or not. All forms of creative expression and embodiment, including stillness, is welcome. You are welcome to be off camera.
