Writing the Ancestors: The Body as Ancestral Inheritance

Writing the Ancestors: The Body as Ancestral Inheritance is an invitation to gaze upon ourselves with our ancestors in mind.
Who's face do you have? Who's hands do you have? Is the way you move your body similar to someone else? How do they move their body and where did they learn that from?
This workshop includes writing and moving meditation to explore our bodies within a lineage to craft a story of our dead with our bodies as the material to do so.
This hour-long workshop is an interactive introduction to my 6-week course "Writing the Ancestors II: Ephemera as Evidence." Participants of this workshop will have discounted access to the full course.
Bring a pen and paper, a mirror if you'd like, but most importantly bring yourself and a willingness to explore and play.
“In this here place, we flesh; flesh that weeps, laughs; flesh that dances on bare feet in grass. Love it. Love it hard. -- Toni Morrison, Beloved
