I went through a hard time dealing with my parent’s dementia. I looked for something online to comfort me. Documentaries showed only the pain. Finding very little, I wrote a musical about end of life challenges, because I wanted to provide comfort to others. “Home for Mom” tells a heartfelt story with music that shows sadness and hope. Why a musical? Well, it makes a hard topic palatable-sometimes when are feelings are so deep; music is the only way we can express ourselves. I look around now and see others experiencing similar grief whether it is losing a job, a way of life or a loved one. So our award winning creative team is sharing with you the story and songs from our project and an opportunity, in a post –viewing discussion, to share your feelings with a panel of actors and practitioners.
