My personal journey with grief and poetry began when my first wife died. Though I'd written little before, I felt compelled to write poetry. I began searching for books containing other people’s poems about grieving the death of their loved ones but found little that moved me. I decided to create my own. I called for submissions, receiving 100s of replies. Voices of the Grieving Heart is a unique volume with over 160 selected poems, essays, and images by 83 contributors sharing their experiences of loss, grief, and transformation.
