Life Story Club

Hosted by Life Story Club

Life Story Club
What are you thankful for? What is something you appreciate about yourself? The Life Story Club meets to share stories, have meaningful conversation and make true friendships.

We invite you to join our weekly Life Story Club sessions. Drop-ins welcome! Every week, we gather as a group on Zoom to share life experiences around fun and engaging prompt questions. This week's theme is gratitude. These sessions are designed for older adults, but younger caregivers and family/friends are welcome to attend with an older loved one to partake in the experience.

All sessions will be held on Zoom and they are limited to 10 participants, so register as soon as you can! This is a 6-week series that meets once per week beginning November 9 and extending through December 14. Participants are by no means required to join every single session--just drop in for a session whenever you're available.

You'll also have the option of having your story audio recorded and curated on your very own audio memoir page. An audio memoir makes for a great keepsake or holiday gift for loved ones! To get a better idea of what audio memoirs look like, please take a look at our sample memoir.

About Us:

The Life Story Club is a nonprofit dedicated to promoting healthy aging and reducing social isolation of older adults. We do this through the club meetings we run, where we guide groups of participants through sharing and preserving their life stories. We've worked with various community-based organizations, including public libraries, the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, as well as hundreds of individuals to preserve the life stories of their loved ones.

Linnea, our workshop facilitator, has a Master’s in Creative Writing and before making the move to New York, she taught English Composition at Minnesota State University. Over the past four years, Linnea has run numerous creative writing and storytelling workshops in Minnesota and New York. She currently lives in Brooklyn with her dog, Icarus, where she enjoys park-hopping and getting lost in museums.
