Adding the "AND" of Grief During the Holidays
In this experiential online workshop we will explore how grief can exist right up next to contentment or even joy.
We will look at some of your grief thoughts and experiences (ex "My person is gone and I'm all alone") can exist along with other possibly seemingly contradictory ones ("I still feel my person with me and that makes me feel content").
We will be using writing (journalling- no previous writing experience necessary) and art (NOT fine art! scribble-coloring-with-whatever-markers-or-pencils-you-already-have-in-your-house art).
We will explore glimmers, a term coined by Psychologist Deb Dana. Glimmers are small moments of contentment and feelings of safety (think the feel of your dog snuggling next to you or the sound of a well-loved cat purring) that help regulate your nervous system. Glimmers can help provide sustenance during a season when feelings of grief and loss can feel overwhelming.
