Those who take care of the injured, the ill, and the dying we call caregivers . Without them the healthcare system would be crippled. Who will cry for the caregivers exhaustion, suffering and grief.

Caregiving is hard work. Paid, unpaid, full-time, part-time: it can take an emotional and physical toll on you personally, your family, and your community.

As a caregiver, you can easily become engrossed in the day-to-day activities of daily living. It’s easy to accept that your own wellbeing is taking a backseat to something ‘more important’. We all do it, but is it the right thing to do? As the saying goes: ‘You can’t pour from an empty cup'.

Grief is a more intimate part of life than we generally talk about. We are taught grief happens after death and there is an ‘order’ of grieving. There isn’t one – and grief can happen for many reasons at any time. Spend time with us as we delve into the specific characteristics of anticipatory grief, the unresolved grief of the disenfranchised, and Soul Injury.

The goal is to better recognize and understand grief as part of the nature of loss. Together we will review the stages of grief and take a look at group suffering and the colonization of grief.

Plus, there will be ample time for questions and discussion! Feel free to join in for the first 60 minutes during our lecture style chat or the full time where the remainder will be open to use as the community sees fit.
