Psychedelic Journeys: Meaning-Making, Medicine & Mortality

Psychedelic Journeys: Meaning-Making, Medicine & Mortality
What a way to honor Mother's day huh?! Let's explore together how through the safe & ethical use of psychedelics, some have found an increase in acceptance of death and an appreciation for life.

“We are all affecting the world every moment, whether we mean to or not. Our actions and states of mind matter, because we are so deeply interconnected with one another.” ― ram dass

Join Ken Breniman, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Thanatologist (think existential detective with Death as the ultimate teacher), Plant Medicine Integration Specialist (think existential detective with psychedelic medicines as the ultimate teachers), and Certified Yoga Therapist (you go it, the body is the teacher here!) for a lively presentation and interactive discussion on the topic of how the ethical and safe use of sacred plant medicines have helped many make sense of being mortal as well as potential evidence-based treatment for PTSD, prolonged grief, anxiety and depression.

We will honor the Indigenous cultures from where many plant medicines originate. We shall also discuss the bioethics as well as the risks of cultural appropriation as the Western medical and mental health communities begin to take interest in these healing plants. We will open and close this gathering with a meditation to honor the past Stewards of the Lands we reside and humbly accept the responsibilities of being the present day stewards of the Land.

There will be ample time for participants to ask questions or share their experiences as well as a some guidance around self-care and integration practices.
