Let's honor our loved ones, hold space for grief, and reflect on the possibilities of transformation with actress, activist, and New York Times Bestselling author Annabelle Gurwitch and award-winning singer-songwriter Joshua Hill.

Reimagine has been hosting candlelight vigils since March 2020, the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, in order to break down taboos and hold space for all that we've lost. This gathering features writer, actress and activist Annabelle Gurwitch who will discuss her newest book The End of My Life is Killing Me: The Unexpected Joys of a Cancer Slacker. In addition, songwriter and dementia caregiver Joshua Hill will perform music from his newest album "Cowboy Dream."

Annabelle Gurwitch is an actress, activist, and New York Times Bestselling author of six books and two-time finalist for the Thurber Prize. Her essays have appeared in The New Yorker, New York Times, Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Boston Globe, and Hadassah Magazine amongst other publications. Her six books include the New York Times bestseller and Thurber Prize finalist I See You Made an Effort. She is the author of The End of My Life is Killing Me (Zibby Books, March 2026)

Joshua Hill is an award-winning songwriter, violinist, and dementia caregiver crafting multimedia stories at the intersection of arts and health in the forms of stage, screen and song. He received a Canadian Screen Award for co-writing the song “The Crown Sleeps” in the Academy Award nominated film THE BREADWINNER. As a composer, Joshua has scored two feature films, and worked with Michael Krassner (Boxhead Ensemble) and Tim Rutili (Califone) on films that have premiered at Sundance and SXSW. In 2020, Joshua became a dementia caregiver for his father and created SONG CYCLE, a multimedia performance piece which explores the powerful connection between music and dementia, and its personal impact on his family. Joshua performed SONG CYCLE at REDCAT, The Amargosa Opera House, and The Tank Center For Sonic Arts.
