Reimagine has been hosting candlelight vigils since March 2020, the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, in order to break down taboos and hold space for all that we've lost. This gathering features Sarah LaBrie, author of No One Gets to Fall Apart: A Memoir, a 2024 New York Times Notable Book and Editors’ Pick and a best book of the year according to NPR, Elle and Esquire. Born in Oakland and raised in Third Ward in Houston, Texas, she lives in Los Angeles where she works as a TV writer. She was most recently a producer on the HBO and Starz television show, Minx. She also wrote on Blindspotting (Starz), Made for Love (MAX), and Love, Victor (Hulu/Disney). Her libretti have been performed at Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Apollo Theater. Her work appears in the Guardian, Guernica, Electric Literature’s Recommended Reading, Joyland, LitHub, the Los Angeles Review of Books and elsewhere. Sarah was nominated for Best Television Comedy Script at the 2024 Women's Image Network Awards for her episode of Blindspotting, "By Hook or By Crook".

About Reimagine
Reimagine is a nonprofit organization catalyzing a uniquely powerful community–people of different backgrounds, ages, races, and faiths (and no faith) coming together in the hopes of healing ourselves and the world. We specifically support each other in facing adversity, loss, and mortality and – at our own pace – actively channeling life's biggest challenges into meaningful action and growth.
