Let's honor our loved ones, hold space for grief, and reflect on the possibilities of transformation with Suzanne O'Brien, RN, founder and CEO of Doulagivers Institute.

Reimagine has been hosting candlelight vigils since March 2020, the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, in order to break down taboos and hold space for all that we've lost. This gathering features Suzanne O'Brien, RN, author of the new book The Good Death, a compassionate and clear guide to helping loved ones through the profound transition of end of life. Our other featured guest is Nasser Khadjenoori, photographer and Reimagine community collaborator.

Her life's mission is to increase access to high quality end of life education and care for patients and families throughout the world. Nasser Khadjenoori was born in Iran in 1960 into a middle-class family of nine, he moved to the United States at age seventeen to pursue higher education. After earning an MBA in technology, Nasser began a career in the tech industry, working as a software developer and later as an operations manager. In parallel, he pursued his abiding interest in acting. He performed in and directed numerous plays in Cambridge and Boston from 1984 to 1993. In recent years, he has gravitated to visual art, concentrating on photography, which he is self-taught. As his art of photography developed, his interest in street and documentary photography led to collaborations on popular culture books and exhibitions in galleries and museums throughout Boston, gaining recognition in the local art scene. Drawing from his education, exposure to art, and life experiences, Nasser captures and tells stories about humanity, culture, and love. His work blurs the line between documentation and artistic interpretation, offering narratives that bridge cultures and speak to the universal experiences that connect us all. His street photographs and documentary projects have reflected this vision over the past decade. Hodie Mihi, Cras Tibi is Nasser’s newest project: an unconventional photo book and heartfelt meditation on life, death, and memories of loved ones. It is presented through a carefully curated collection of photographs, stories, and touching poems that take you on an emotional journey through resting places and memorials worldwide.
