Reimagining the Way We See
During these days of turmoil and chaotic furor, Karen Hatch and Wai-Chin Matsuoka, are attempting to find a creative playful outlet as a way to support each other and find sustaining community and connection, Let's play together, and reimagine the way we see using the power of photography and the art of collaging for resilience. We are naming this series “Reimaging the Way We See.” We will offer sessions on photography to start in the near future and collaging.
We’ll apply movement, story telling sound, and stillness using the InterPlay platform and look at photos and collages of images we’ve created with Body Wisdom. Often we put our photos in albums and frames but don’t revisit them to remember aspects of our human experience. How are our photographs meaningful and just how and why do we create them? What feelings arise when we “see” them again?
Words, even though useful, are sometimes inadequate to express fully our human emotional experiences. A picture is worth a thousand words! Using the arts of photography and collaging, we can sometimes capture meanings of our experiences that are beyond words or were simply unrecognized. The intuitive body wisdom guides our selection of images to form a picture that might reveal something deep from our soul.
