After years of creating art destined to fade away almost immediately, the impermanent nature of my work began impacting how I saw myself- my own impermanence, my own mortality. This profoundly shifted how I chose to live my life.

After years of creating art destined to fade away almost immediately, the impermanent nature of my work began impacting how I saw myself- my own impermanence, my own mortality. This profoundly shifted how I chose to live my life.
On another front, I had been guiding groups in collaborative impermanent art for many years and came to to see the power that the concept of impermanence held- how it both liberated and challenged. And after creating artworks as interactive memorials, I saw how creating beauty in the midst of sorrow- impermanent beauty intended to fade, created knowing it would fade- was a perfect metaphor for the act of living.
All these experience inform my work harnessing impermanent art as a way to access these deeper layers of our existence.
