I am a filmmaker, author and educator. My films offer inspiration for environmental responsibility and passions, including my latest film about Brazilian Guitarist Jose Neto who worked for thirty years with the kingpin social justice activist Harry Belafonte, a story of loyalty, love and humility. This film provided the backdrop of my own memoir when I lost my own guitar lessons at age 13 after my father stood up to the President of the United States in the historic national strike. My family lost almost everything. I've come to recognize that often times our greatest losses can be our greatest gains. . .we are the masters of our stories and we can heal through the power of stories. These projects came after a painful divorce all which opened me up to the pain of other women in our world and the healing power when you learn connection, empathy and freedom.
