CEREMONIAL is an online platform being built by Megan Sheldon and her husband Johan Hoglund. In 2010, Megan founded Narrative Communications, a brand storytelling agency, and in 2019 she founded Seeking Ceremony, a space to explore the evolving nature of ceremony and ritual. Megan and Johan wanted to find a way to make ceremony more accessible, especially during times of isolated grief, so they set out to build an app to empower care providers with ceremony and ritual tools they can offer their patients, clients, and colleagues. They're focusing on rituals for the 'seemingly invisible moments' surrounding beginning of life + end of life experiences. Megan has been curating ceremonies for the past 10 years, ranging from mother blessings to memorials, drawing on secular, nature-inspired rituals and the power of storytelling to create moments of deep connection and personal meaning.
