We are here to reimagine...

Death Doula Does is a project to give communities that go unrepresented in death and grief. I work with queer, polyamorous, transgender, and all of those in between who are interested in end of life planning, death rights/rites.

I have been grieving since I was a youth - I just didn't have the words to express what I was feeling. All of those skills came to a head when I 21 and facing the diagnoses of my Mother with stage 4 cancer. At 23, I lost my mother. At 24, I became a parent. At 26, my father died from what his primary care physician called " a broken heart". Every year since I have been "that friend/community member" who has experience in death and grief care. In 2012, I started volunteering with hospices that focused on LGBTIA+ elders. In 2024, I stepped away from bedside hospice care as a death doula and stared two peer to peer grief support spaces. One is Weaving & Grieving - for crafter/artist who want to weave their stories together and Cozy Collage - a cousin to Weaving & Grieving, an online realm to explore grief. I also collaborate with Queer Death Collective of Portland, Or.
