I have always felt a deep connection to the arts and was pulled back to invest in the arts while I was grieving the loss of my Nonno Palmiro Marchesini (ten years ago) and Nonna Ermida Marchesini (eight years ago). Last summer I enrolled in the End of Life Doula program at Douglas College to prepare for practicum placement and in September 2019, I was placed at Burnaby Hospice Society and have since worked alongside those at end of life and those who are grieving. In November 2019, my dad died suddenly and I found resiliency in myself through the arts. It is a privilege to create space with those who are grieving and to help them look within themselves to process their grief through the expressive arts.
