  • Simple practices desgined to empower you to stop waiting and proactively initiate plans for your service, remains, and advance directives
  • A powerful means to strengthen your relationships with others, inspired by a person who actually had three months left to live
  • How to address common but challenging issues such as regret and forgiveness that are often avoided for a lifetime
  • A practice common in hospice training that may help any person gain perspective as to what matters most
  • A technique to address fears of death or illness that the author unexpectedly came upon when contemplating a grim diagnosis

My Inspiration

While working as an Occupational Therapist in the hospital setting, I felt drawn towards hospice and became a Liaison with Hospice Maui shortly before I was diagnosed with a rare neuroendocrine tumor. Through each of these experiences, I began to question if the general avoidance of death might limit one’s capacity to fully live in ways that are not apparent until it’s too late, and created Alive for Now from there. I enjoy yoga, lucid dreaming practices, deep conversations, connecting with others that have rare conditions, and moving to new places.
