DOROT alleviates social isolation among the elderly and provides services to help them live independently as valued members of the community, bringing the generations together in a mutually beneficial partnership of elders, volunteers, and professionals. Our work provides and effective model for others. Our work is based in the values of: Jewish Communal Responsibility, a commitment to excellence, compassion, making a difference, integrity, and innovation. Through our Lasting Impressions Department, we provide older adults with an opportunity to leave meaningful stories and memories behind for future generations to ensure they will be remembered as well as support older adults in their process of advance care planning using What Matters material. We are inspired by the lives our older adults have lived, and the power of their experience to inform and empower the generations to come.
