I am a palliative care physician with a deep interest in all the ways that humans use creativity and spiritual practice to make sense of this crazy thing called Life. Since 2014, I have worked on the inpatient Supportive Care Medicine team at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in LA. It is a privilege to work with such a variety of cultures and faiths every day as I am humbled by the courage of patients and families as they walk through some of their toughest days. I often feel like the times I am most effective at my job are when I am simply present and listen. I believe one of the greatest things we can do for each other is to hold space, for healing or laughing or performing or crying or being witness to authentic vulnerability. I look for opportunities to do this whenever possible, whether at patients' bedsides or with my own family and friends.
